Damiana Thai Tea Recipe

Turnera diffusa, also referred to as damiana, is a shrub that is indigenous to the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, South America, and southern Texas in the United States. It is a member of the Passifloraceae family. Damiana is a little, woody plant that has tiny, fragrant flowers.

This recipe is a great way to cover the earthy taste of Damiana. Not only does it cover the bitter flavor, it tastes delicious. 

 Damiana Thai Tea Recipe:

2t Thai tea mix

1/2t Damiana (leaf or powder)

1T Honey

Coconut Milk

 Or make your own Thai Tea (Star anise, cardamom, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, damina, tamarind powder, and almond extract) Not required for this recipe. I bought the "Thai Tea Mix" on Amazon.

  1. Boil water for 5 minutes.
  2. Steep the tea with a reusable steeper or loose tea and strain.
  3. Stir in the honey while it's hot
  4. Chill tea for 10 minutes Pour the tea over ice in a tall cup, leaving an inch or so of space at the top for coconut milk. Pour coconut milk over the top to your liking and enjoy!

Key: Small t= teaspoon

Large T= Tablespoon
